Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Paul Richmond and I am excited to be joining the Meadows team as golf course superintendent. A brief background on me. I have 20 years in the golf course business. I come to the Meadows from Wawenock Golf Club in South Bristol, where I was the General Manager and Superintendent. I am also the current Vice President of the Maine Golf Course Superintendent Association.
Looking to next season, we are in the process of preparing the golf course for winter. Over the next week we will be aerating the greens and shutting the irrigation system down. This year’s aeration process will include a dormant seed application. This along with a good winter spray should start us off on a great season.
It is also critical to provide healthy turf in the spring that we stay off of the greens this winter. We will have temporary pins setup for those that enjoy brisk winter golf.
We will be setting up snowshoe and cross country ski trails so be on the lookout for that.
I look forward to meeting you all next season and thank you for your understanding while we ready the course for winter.
Sincerely
Paul Richmond
