You’ve seen the tape on the floor and the freezers in the dining room, it can only mean one thing…it’s renovation time at The Meadows and Doolin’s!  Starting on Sunday November 4th Doolin’s will be closing while we make some exciting changes.  We will open again in late November and will keep you up to date along the way through email and Facebook.  We are open normal hours through Saturday this week so come on out and get your Doolin’s fix while you can!

Hello Everyone,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Paul Richmond and I am excited to be joining the Meadows team as golf course superintendent. A brief background on me. I have 20 years in the golf course business. I come to the Meadows from Wawenock Golf Club in South Bristol, where I was the General Manager and Superintendent. I am also the current Vice President of the Maine Golf Course Superintendent Association.

Looking to next season, we are in the process of preparing the golf course for winter. Over the next week we will be aerating the greens and shutting the irrigation system down. This year’s aeration process will include a dormant seed application. This along with a good winter spray should start us off on a great season.

It is also critical to provide healthy turf in the spring that we stay off of the greens this winter. We will have temporary pins setup for those that enjoy brisk winter golf.

We will be setting up snowshoe and cross country ski trails so be on the lookout for that.

I look forward to meeting you all next season and thank you for your understanding while we ready the course for winter.
Sincerely

Paul Richmond

Team Europe walked away with the win at Ryder Cup 2018, hosted in Paris, France. This is their sixth straight win at home.

They were able to put a halt to any chance of Team USA making a comeback, and with Phil Mickelson’s wet tee shot on the 16th, it was all they needed to clinch the cup.
